2009 – 2013 Activities

The association's early years: the birth of the “Maquisards” operations (No. 1 to No. 8) and the first remembrance routes by jeep.

Our beginnings, from 2009 to 2013

  • 2009 “Maquisards” operations No. 1 (20–22 March, 16 participants) and No. 2 (21–23 August, 15 participants), Brancion area near Tournus.
  • 2010 Maquisards No. 3 (9–11 April, Brancion, 12 participants). The first great “Morvan Maquis” remembrance route (24–26 August, the Bernard maquis area, the St-Brisson museum, Lake Settons) — 18 participants in 7 jeeps. The Battle of Sennecey ceremony on 4 September, and a presentation of SAS history at Chalon-Champforgeuil (1–3 October).
  • 2011 Maquisards No. 4 (15–17 April, Brancion, with a half-track, 18 participants). The “3rd SAS Normandy–Saône-et-Loire” remembrance route (30 August–4 September): the Courseulles to Sennecey-le-Grand route in the footsteps of Guy de Combaud, 11 participants in 6 jeeps.
  • 2012 Maquisards No. 5 (20–22 April, Brancion, 23 participants) and No. 6 (9–11 November, St-Romain, 20 participants). The “Cluny and Baubery Maquis” remembrance route (24–27 August, 15 participants). An activity at the Château de Brandon (23 and 25 July) for some fifty guides from across Europe.
  • 2013 Maquisards No. 7 (26–28 April, St-Romain, with an EBR armoured car, 15 participants) and No. 8 (23–25 August, St-Romain–Sombernon, with an EBR, 7 participants).
