A new space opened in 2020 for the Sennecey 1944 association, continuing the association's historic website (opened in 2000) and the "1944 Remembrance" talks.
Our 2020 activities
- 04/09/18 Took part in the ceremony at Ruffey, SAS Memorial, with 5 jeeps.
- 29–30/06/19 Took part with 4 jeeps and a stand in the Armed Forces Days organised by the DMD 71 at Sennecey-le-Grand and Mâcon. Jeep rides for a very enthusiastic public.
- 04/09/19 Ceremony at the Ruffey SAS Memorial with the participation of the 1st RPIMa of Bayonne. Display of 7 jeeps. Parachute jumps.
- 19–21 June 2020 “Maquisards” operation No. 21, accommodation in 2 bungalows at the Étangs de Laives. 13 participants in 4 jeeps. Saturday: a jeep raid in the footsteps of the Corlay and Brancion maquis, punctuated by tactical actions, the SAS museum. Sunday: a remembrance raid of the St-Gengoux maquis via St-Ythaire, Genouilly and Bissy-sous-Fley, with the participation of Michel, son of Captain Drillien, founder and commander of the St-Gengoux maquis.
- 6 July 2020 Setting out from Gergy, a presentation for 6 tourists of the maquis areas of Sennecey, Corlay and Brancion. 8 participants in 3 jeeps.
- 11–12 July 2020 St-Bonnet-de-Joux area, in support of the A.C.C.E.N.T. association of Cluny for its “tradivaliste” session. 6 participants in 3 jeeps.
- 6–8 August 2020 “Tradivaliste” session No. 2, accommodation in Gergy. 7 participants in 3 jeeps. Thursday: ruins and the prehistoric site of Montaigu. Friday: discovery of caves and prehistoric remains at Meursault, La Rochepot, Orches and the Lusigny maquis cave. Wine tasting at Meloisey.
- 21 August 2020 Visit to the maquis areas of the Morvan: Socrate, Bernard, Chaumard. 7 participants in 2 P4 jeeps.
- 4–6 September 2020 “Maquisards” operation No. 22, accommodation in Gergy. 4 participants in 2 jeeps. Saturday: a remembrance raid via La Madeleine, Sennecey, Corlay, Brancion, Chapaize, Lancharre, the St-Claude hermitage, the SAS museum. Sunday: patrols between Chalon and Verdun-sur-le-Doubs.
- 28 September 2020 RadioKaZou communications meeting in Gergy. 7 participants.
- 16 December 2020 Reconnaissance of the ruined farms of Crue and La Mangette, refuges of the Blanot maquis. 6 participants in 1 P4 jeep.
