2022 Activities

Our 2022 activities

  • 5 February At Ameugny, the funeral of Philippe Akar, a former SAS man parachuted in during the summer of 1944, an instructor of the maquis, who took part in the Liberation fighting.
  • 4 May “1944 remembrance raid”: Gergy, Sennecey-le-Grand, Brancion. 6 participants, 1 jeep.
  • 14 May (evening) Activity for the SAS museum of Sennecey-le-Grand. Jean-Marc, Raphaël and François for jeep rides open to the public in 3 jeeps. Éric to present the history of the SAS and period dress to visitors.
  • 15 May At Beaune: Éric and François visited the Historial of Franco-American Friendship. A meeting with Philippe Lucas, its founder-president.
  • 28 May At the Chalon-Champforgeuil airfield: jeep rides open to the public in aid of the “An Aeroplane, a Child, a Dream” association. Raphaël and François in 2 jeeps.
  • 10 July 1944 remembrance raid, Corlay and Brancion maquis. 11 participants in 2 jeeps. A visit to the SAS museum and to Georges Duriaux, a Resistance veteran and centenarian.
  • 26–28 August Maquisard No. 24, 8 participants in 3 jeeps. At Givry: a tree-top adventure course, reconnaissance of a mill, ruins, a plateau, the Verpillière cave, the monument to those shot in August 1944. A crossing of the Saône in a ferryman's boat. Wine tasting at Meloisey. Accommodation in Gergy.
  • 4 September Anniversary ceremony of the liberation of Sennecey-le-Grand. Yvan, Éric and François in 2 jeeps.
  • 8 September Took part in the “Liberation remembrance route” in the Beaune area. Gabrielle, Jean-Pierre and François in 2 jeeps.
  • 25 September Activity for the open day at the Chalon-Champforgeuil airfield. Jean-Pierre, Jean-Marc and François in 3 jeeps.
  • 19–20 October A P4 jeep raid: Canjuers, the Verdon gorges.
